History

Naomi was born and bred in North Allerton, Yorkshire before moving South first to Banham, Norfolk and finally to Newmarket in her late teens.

She started riding at five years old. Her first pony was bought from the meat man for £100 and when on to compete at affiliated level BSJA showjumping and to represent Great Britain at mounted games.

Throughout her youth she was a member of both Thetford Chase and Soham District Pony Clubs.

During her school summer holidays, Naomi trained with Penny Podmore, now owner of Brownscombe Stud and known for her eventing achievements. After completing her school education she attended the British Racing School in Newmarket, obtaining NVQ levels I and II in horsecare.

On completion of her training Naomi spent three happy years with David Morley, trainer of flat and National Hunt horses and after his untimely death, she joined Henry Cecil, spending eight successful years with him. During this time Naomi was fortunate enough to ride horses such as Ram Rumour, Half Glance and Revealing amongst others.

Amongst her other racing achievements she won many prizes for best turned out including at Royal Ascot - a sign of her fantastic attention to detail!

She also spent a year working for Ian Wright, senior partner and surgeon at Newmarket Equine Hospital at his rehabilitation yard, dealing with horses recovering from all types of surgery.

During this time Naomi continued to compete her own horses at International level and BSJA showjumping. She also competed at the Horse of the Year Show.

Currently she is training with Ian Woodhead, Barrett Watson and Paul Fielder. She now trades as Newmarket Sports Horses offering livery and training at all levels.

Horses produced by Naomi have gone on to be ridden by Sharon Hunt, Hannah Bate, Ian Olding, Chris Moyce and are currently competing at BE intermediate level.
